On March 25th you get to experience Hungarian Folk Punk, when Bohemian Betyars visits Studenterhuset in Købmagergade.

This concert is a part of their European Album Release Tour, and the concert is supported by the Hungarian Embassy in Denmark.

Formed in 2009, Bohemian Betyars is a fiddler band with a purpose to spread the feeling of bitter revelry (an oh so Hungarian specialty) the farthest possible.

Self-described as speed-folk freak-punk, their music has evolved into a new, exciting mixture – including rocking punk, bouncing ska, swooping psychedelia, melodic themes all spiced up with Hungarian, Balkanic and Gipsy elements.

From the Baltic Sea to the Atlantic Ocean, in the last couple of years this real powerboost band made the audience dance about a thousand times. Be it on the street, at a club or a festival, the catchy tunes of Bohemian Betyars will yank you out of the mundane weekdays and throw you into the deep waters of delirium, just as it was planned to happen.

This night they will be supported by the Danish band PÚLK.

Using screaming clarinet, honk horns and overdrive accordion, PÚLK challenges your comprehension of folk music and creates a fantabulous feeling of confusion that will leave you wondering if you attended a folk fest or a rock concert.

The four members of the band have their own distinct musical background. A curiosity for the weird are their common drive in creating a hybrid between rock music, the experimental and the Nordic folk music tradition. The tonal language and sound picture is instrumental anecdotes taking from everyday life with the quirks which forms it.

All in all you are in for a truly intriguing and unique experience at Studenterhuset!
