What are innovation districts? How do the different finance models in European cities influence urban innovation? And what will it take to transform Ørestad into an international innovation district?

During this mini-conference, Bruce Katz, Founding father of the term Innovation Districts, Centennial Scholar and Sr. Fellow at The Brookings Institution and Assistant Professor and EU Project lead & Partner Luise Noring are invited by Ørestad Innovation City Copenhagen (ØICC) to enlighten us upon these questions.

ØICC is built on the notion that innovation is born out of relations and carried by people. This mini-conference is an opportunity for the member companies and other interested parties to engage with the larger community around innovation districts and urban innovation.

The event is free of charge but please note there is a no-show fee of 200 DKR.

Bruce Katz and Luise Noring will each give a presentation on innovation districts and the financing of urban innovation. They will inspire and provide examples on how Ørestad can become an international hub for knowledge and innovation and the opportunities that follow in doing so. In-between the presentations, ØICC will facilitate a workshop on urban innovation.
