Donald C. Johanson (USA) is a world-renowned expert on human evolution. In 1974 in Ethiopia he discovered one of the most famous hominin fossils ever, popularly known as \u201cLucy\u201d. The 3.2\u00a0million-year-old exceptionally well-preserved skeleton provided a crucial link between more ancient ancestors and younger ones, including those who were\u00a0directly ancestral to modern humans.<\/p>\n

More than\u00a040 years later, Lucy continues to play a pivotal role in our quest to understand human evolution. This evening, Donald C. Johanson will talk about what we have learned from Lucy. And about how far scientists have come in understanding our African origins.<\/p>\n

Host of the evening will be Peter C. Kj\u00e6rgaard, Professor of Evolutionary History and Museum Director at the Natural History Museum of Denmark.<\/p>\n

During the intermission, a glass of wine will be served.<\/em><\/p>\n
