and Denmark\u2019s - record on human rights, report media","use_post_excerpt":false},{"acf_fc_layout":"Content","content":"<p>The report, compiled by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said human rights were regularly violated in the EU and the \u2018hypocritical policy on entry to the EU violates the right to freedom of movement\u2019, reports Seven59.dk and DR.dk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe European Union has created artificial barriers to entry to its territory, which violate individual rights to freedom of movement and have particularly negative consequences for the Roma and asylum seekers,\u201d the report said, naming Denmark as a country that has \u2018major problems with refugees and an intolerance towards immigrants\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>The report states: \u201cDanish and international human rights activists have repeatedly stated that there are major problems with respect for human rights, freedoms and democratic norms in \u2018perfect Denmark\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Xenophobia and anti-semitism<\/h2>\n<p>The role played by the Danish People\u2019s Party is also emphasised: \u201cA party that is always willing to whip up a xenophobic mood and whose leaders constantly criticise the government for failing to restrict immigration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report also notes \u2018tension between Jews and Muslims in Denmark\u2019 where there were \u201937 incidents of anti-Semitism in 2012\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Link to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dr.dk\/Nyheder\/Udland\/2014\/01\/28\/110318.htm\" target=\"_blank\">article in Danish here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>universitypost@adm.ku.dk <\/p>\n<p><em>Like us on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UniversityPost\" target=\"_blank\"> Facebook <\/a> for features, guides and tips on upcoming events.
