Some latecomers are forced to stand. But the first two rows are luckily reserved, as Minister for Research, Innovation and Higher Education, Morten \u00d8stergaard doesn’t show up until the first introduction is just about to start. <\/p>\n<p>He joined Ambassador of China to Denmark, Mr. Li Ruiyu, Vice-President of Fudan University, Prof. Lin Shangli and Rector of University of Copenhagen, Prof. Ralf Hemmingsen.<\/p>\n<p>It is the opening of the new Fudan European Center for China Studies at the University of Copenhagen, a collaboration with Fudan University in China. The first of its kind in Europe, it will focus on researching the interaction between China and Europe. <\/p>\n<p>See our photo gallery <a href=\"node\/19284\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>China’s growth analysed<\/h2>\n<p>In his speech, University of Copenhagen’s Rector, Ralf Hemmingsen, praised the spirit of research co-operation: <\/p>\n<p>“I don’t like the term ‘brain drain’ – it implies research is a zero sum game. Universities collaborate and work together, closer collaboration benefits everyone”.<\/p>\n<p>At the event, Professsor Zhang Jun, an economist from Fudan University presented his views on how China can sustain its fast economic growth.
