This is certainly if a sample of testing results from the former Faculty of Life Sciences is to be believed.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported by the University Post, a project developed by the University of Copenhagen\u2019s Centre for Internationalisation and Parallel Language Use (CIP), designed to certify the English language skills of 250 lecturers teaching English courses at the Faculty of Life Sciences, is about to be finalised this year. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/universitypost.dk\/article\/english-language-check-life-science-lecturers\" target=\"_blank\"> Read the original article \u2018English language check for Life Science lecturers\u2019 here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So far, 242 lecturers took the two and a half hour Test of Oral English Language Proficiency for Academic Staff (TOEPAS).<\/p>\n<h2>Grading filters fluency levels<\/h2>\n<p>The assessment scale ranges from 1 to 5 (where 1 is the lowest and 5 is the highest grade) and the main criteria for evaluating the lecturers is fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and interaction skills. <\/p>\n<p>According to data provided by Christian Jensen, Certification team coordinator, seven lecturers were assessed with a 5, meaning that their English sounds like that of a well-educated native-English speaker. <\/p>\n<p>110 of the lecturers are excellent English language speaker, while 118 were assessed as good English language speakers.
