That rusty bridge or that dungy tunnel you pass everyday on your daily commute might be the just perfect place for a session, thinks Austrian student Michael Luger of the award winning music video collective \u2018They Shoot Music – Don\u2019t They\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s not make-out sessions that we are talking about here. We\u2019re talking out of the ordinary musical sessions.<\/p>\n

Luger explains: \u00bbWe take bands off the stage and place them in unfamiliar settings.\u00ab The look? \u00bbRough, spontaneous and improvisational music videos\u00ab .<\/p>\n

The project, aptly named \u2018They Shoot Music – Don\u2019t They,\u2019 started in Vienna four years ago and has now formed the foundation for \u2018The Copenhagen Sessions.\u2019<\/p>\n

Unpolished and unconventionally beautiful<\/h2>\n

As a student in the Unica Master in Urban Studies, Luger is, along with his 17 other classmates, studying in four different cities over the course of two years: Brussels, Vienna, Copenhagen and Madrid.<\/p>\n

\u00bbI knew that I would be in Copenhagen and I started thinking about doing some sessions here. And then I suddenly got in touch with a lot of people,\u00ab he notes.<\/p>\n

By selecting bands by personal taste, \u2018They Shoot Music \u2013 Don\u2019t They\u2019 uses music videos as a way to explore cities and environments. The outcome of their videos, like this one from Norwegian band Moddi<\/a> filmed near a farmer\u2019s field in Germany, is raw and organic. And the Copenhagen Sessions will surely be the same:<\/p>\n

\u00bbWe are not looking for post card Copenhagen,\u00ab assures Luger, sticking to the concept that drives the uniqueness of the project.<\/p>\n

Unplanned sessions<\/h2>\n

The Copenhagen Sessions are set to be released Monday 7 November on theyshootmusic.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Three sessions have already been filmed, but Luger hopes that they can come up with ten by the end of his stay in Copenhagen. So far ‘They Shoot Music – Don\u2019t They’ has been released over 400 videos from 200 sessions from bands all over the world.<\/p>\n

\u00bbIt\u2019s not about the perfect recording,\u00ab adds Luger, \u00bbWhen we go to the sessions we have a few ideas in mind, but most gets improvised.\u00ab<\/p>\n

The outcome of their videos, like this one from <a href=\"http:\/\/theyshootmusic.at\/posts\/Moddi\">Norwegian band Moddi<\/a> filmed near a farmer\u2019s field in Germany, is raw and organic. And the Copenhagen Sessions will surely be the same:<\/p>\n<p>\u00bbWe are not looking for post card Copenhagen,\u00ab assures Luger, sticking to the concept that drives the uniqueness of the project.<\/p>\n<h2>Unplanned sessions<\/h2>\n<p>The Copenhagen Sessions are set to be released Monday 7 November on <a href=\"http:\/\/theyshootmusic.at\">theyshootmusic.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Three sessions have already been filmed, but Luger hopes that they can come up with ten by the end of his stay in Copenhagen.
