","contributor_image":false}]},{"acf_fc_layout":"Content","content":"<p>It is the study of the human condition, and the study of living things that is attracting more and more students to Copenhagen. This is according to a breakdown of the latest admissions statistics released to the University Post from the International Office.<\/p>\n<p>The statistics confirm an upswell of students coming to Copenhagen: 2,196 students came here last year on exchange, a 15 per cent increase over the last two years. The latest figure is a 70-student up-adjustment over <a href=\"node\/6540\">previously released estimates.<\/a> The figures do not include full-degree students, which have also seen a surge in numbers.<\/p>\n<p>When asked for the underlying cause of the increase, the International Office has previously pointed to the greater number of courses offered in English, and Copenhagen’s better standing abroad.<\/p>\n<h2>Human and life sciences win<\/h2>\n<p>It is the Humanities and Life Sciences faculties that are attracting the international talent:<\/p>\n<p>734 international students came to the Faculty of Humanities in 2009-2010, a massive increase of 175 over 2007-2008.<\/p>\n<p>The Life Sciences people also struck gold: 305 internationals came for 2009-2010, 30 more than in 2007-2008.<\/p>\n<h2>Law loses<\/h2>\n<p>The run down of faculty statistics also reveals the biggest loser: <\/p>\n<p>The Faculty of Law has lost 44 incoming foreign students over the three year period, so that it in the latest year, had 225 incoming foreign students.<\/p>\n<p>More are coming in, and more are leaving.
