A call by 58 scientists for a separate inquiry into the Milena Penkowa fraud case has been emphatically rejected. This has been made clear by the Danish section of this new site, Universitetsavisen<\/em>, in an interview with the Chairman of the Board Nils Strandberg Pedersen after a board meeting Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The 58 scientists had otherwise recently said that they had regained hope, and their spokesman said that he was convinced the board would listen to their arguments.<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u00bbWe cannot make such an inquiry. The fact of the matter is, that cases on scientific dishonesty must be heard at the Commitees for Scientific Dishonesty (UVVU). You must split the case into two parts,\u00ab he said.<\/p>\n

Just wants to clear her name<\/h2>\n

\u00bbFirst, the question of dishonesty, which has to be processed in the UVVU, and second, the administrative processing of the whole case. As for the second, we have decided together with the Legal Adviser to the Danish Government (Danish: Kammeradvokaten…ed) to write up an account of the whole administrative process. This has to be sent to the authority that has oversight over us, the Ministry of Science,\u00ab he said.<\/p>\n

The account of the legal adviser will not be made public, he said.<\/p>\n

In reaction to the meeting, Milena Penkowa said to TV station DR Wednesday that she was happy with the Board’s decision. Now she \u00bbjust wanted to have her name cleared,\u00ab she said. <\/p>\n
