If the University Post survey<\/a> is to be believed far-away relationships are hard work. But for those that want to make the effort, new technologies can come to the rescue, pre-empting the temptation of new encounters.<\/p>\n

Love from afar can now have similarities to a close relationship, according to Poul Poder, associate professor at the Department of Sociology.<\/p>\n

\u00bbWith Skype, for example, you can see and hear your partner as if you were in the same room. The saying \u2018out of sight, out of mind\u2019 does not apply anymore,\u00ab he says.<\/p>\n
