Six months ago we published an inside <a href=\"http:\/\/universitypost.dk\/article\/inside-new-maersk-building-lab-tower\" target=\"_blank\">night-time tour of the site<\/a>, but now the builders are a lot closer to finishing.<\/p>\n<div class=\"dme-external-teaser dme-external-teaser-3\">\n<div class=\"image\">\n<div class=\"dme-image dme-image-center dme-image-preset-0\"><a href=\"http:\/\/universitetsavisen.dk\/node\/32429\" title=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/old_files\/1m0a1445.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"title\">\n<div class=\"label\">L\u00e6s mere:<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/universitetsavisen.dk\/node\/32429\">Inside the new Maersk Building lab tower<\/a> <\/div>\n<div class=\"teaser_text\">\n <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The older, original, “‘Panum’ is a cool building, but it\u2019s very closed to the outside world. This one [The Maersk Building] is built to look open and inviting,” says Charlotte Aabo, communication advisor at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences to the University Post.<\/p>\n<h2>Sustainable architecture<\/h2>\n<p>The architects have incorporated state-of-the-art science labratories with solar panels, green roofs, and moveable shutters. Pipes, rather than tanks, will be used to pump gas directly into the labs.<\/p>\n<div class=\"dme-image dme-image-center dme-image-preset-0\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/old_files\/17-maersk-building.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><\/div>\n<p><em>The large auditorium. Photo: Martina Zamboni<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The research area, which occupies the middle section of the tower, will be connected vertically by a huge spiral staircase that will also be visible from the outside. <\/p>\n<p>On the ground floor there will be a canteen, as well as a caf\u00e9 open to everyone.
