The European environment conference Euro Enviro<\/a> is organized entirely by University of Copenhagen and CBS students this year. The annual conference will bring 54 participants from European universities across Europe, as well as students from other local universities in Denmark.<\/p>\n

For the past 20 years, the conference has taken place in a different city across Europe. At the end of the event each year, a group of students from a university in Europe volunteers to host the symposium the following year. Last year, the participants voted in favor of Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

“The event is basically for students from all over Europe, and Danes are of course welcomed.” says Konrad L\u00fcders one of the organisers. <\/p>\n

Several activities open to public<\/h2>\n

Since it was created as an organization in 1995 in Germany, EuroEnviro has annually held symposiums all around Europe. The organization’s original aim was to create a platform for university students to exchange opinions about environmental issues. Over the years, the aim expanded from only focusing on environmental issues, to also include social and economic issues.<\/p>\n

The symposium begins on Saturday 7 May and continues until 14 May. The activities of the week-long event range from dinner on the first evening, to a sightseeing bike tour around Copenhagen, along with 12 presentations from professionals working in fields related to environmental protection. <\/p>\n

Although many of the lectures and events are only open to participants, several of the activities are free and open to the general public.<\/p>\n

Ends with a vote for next year’s city<\/h2>\n

Monday, 9 May, the film \u201cPlanet RE: think\u201d<\/a> will be screened at Under Buen. Tuesday, 10 May, the participants of EuroEnviro2016 will present different topics at Folkets Hus<\/a>. Wednesday,11 May, there will be a panel debate on sustainability<\/a>, presented by EuroEnviro2016 and its partner Dj\u00f8f Studerende. <\/p>\n

Finally, on Saturday, 14 May comes the final exhibition, where participants of the symposium will exhibit their sustainable solution to a problem of their choice. Saturday evening will conclude the week with a closing ceremony, a dinner party and the participants will present and vote on which city will host next year\u2019s symposium.
