This was among the questions asked &#8211; and answered &#8211; during Sunday\u2019s workshop, titled &#8220;Pragmatic Architecture and Design: Free-Build Experimentation, City Hacking and Social Entrepreneurship\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>The workshop was part of a summer school programme <a href=\"http:\/\/urban.tors.ku.dk\/summerschools\/urban-culture-in-theory-and-action\/\" target=\"_blank\">Urban Culture in Theory and Action,<\/a> with this part run by Steen Andersen, and held at the so-called Container City in Copenhagen\u2019s Nordvest neighborhood. Container City provides an alternative urban space for various activities, including urban gardening, film screenings in a charming tiny wagon, concerts and much more. <\/p>\n<p>In the course students were introduced to questions such as: Is there an alternative culture in Copenhagen? What about authenticity? And what ever happened to Copenhagen\u2019s \u201ccool\u201d neighbourhoods? <\/p>\n<div class=\"dme-external-teaser dme-external-teaser-3\">\n<div class=\"image\">\n<div class=\"dme-image dme-image-center dme-image-preset-0\"><a href=\"http:\/\/universitetsavisen.dk\/node\/28749\" title=\"\"><picture><img src=\"\/old_files\/urban_culture_course_image_flikr_cc.jpg\" class=\"\"  decoding=\"async\"  alt=\"\" title=\"\"><\/picture><\/a><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"title\">\n<div class=\"label\">L\u00e6s mere:<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/universitetsavisen.dk\/node\/28749\">New course to look at the gritty, alternative Copenhagen<\/a>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"teaser_text\">\n          <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The students, many of whom are visiting Copenhagen specifically for the summer school, got to engage in hands-on activity. Their task was to write a sequence of messages about what the city means to them and to reproduce these messages on handmade signs. These would then be hung around the neighborhood, the so called Fuglekvarteret, to provoke unusual thinking among residents and visitors alike.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the photos from the event by our photographer David V. Their task was to write a sequence of messages about what the city means to them and to reproduce these messages on handmade signs. These would then be hung around the neighborhood, the so called Fuglekvarteret, to provoke unusual thinking among residents and visitors alike.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the photos from the event by our photographer David V.
