The site will help students find relevant information about how to use the library services and their individual libraries under the Copenhagen University Library group. <\/p>\n

Students can find opening hours, the reading room and study facilities, courses and how to print, copy and scan. They can also find out how to register as a user, and search for literature, explains Christian Lauersen, library director at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) Social Sciences library and coordinator of student services at Copenhagen University Library.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe important thing about this is that it is targeted towards new students, it brings together the most significant things you need to know as a new student regarding your library service and you can access this without shopping around,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

The Copenhagen University Library is a part of The Royal Library and consist of individual faculties and department libraries at the University of Copenhagen. Having a one-stop site for all new library users is the kind of idea that should have been done years ago, but which now finally has been brought to fruition, Christian Lauersen explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cNew students have a lot of new things on their mind. There is no need to make it harder for them than necessary to get the information. What we are aiming at is the basic things you need to know when you are new at UCPH and the rest will come later\u201d.<\/p>\n

Along with the launch of the website Copenhagen University Library is also setting off its new Instagram contest: Upload your picture from a library experience to Instagram and tag it with #kub_welcome and the three best pictures will win gift vouchers to Academic Books.<\/p>\n
