Student job:<\/strong> I have a job at Maersk Drilling and am employed at the legal department. The legal department consists of two teams – “Corporate and Commercial” and “Legal Compliance” \u2013 I am in between the two. Maersk is a very international company and has people from many different countries employed there. There is a respect and a pride in the logo, which you quickly notice. I also quickly felt like I was part of the family.<\/p>\n

Subject:<\/strong> I have just handed in my thesis and am at the end of my law degree. I have specialized in company law, so the work in a large company is clear-cut and relevant.<\/p>\n

How long have you worked in Maersk Drilling?<\/strong> I was employed in March 2016, so I have been working here for just over a year.<\/p>\n

How did you get the job?<\/strong> I saw a job posting online and sent an application. I had to go through some skill tests and a personality analysis before I was called in for an interview. My impression is, that my motivation in wanting to work specifically at Maersk Drilling was really important.
\n<\/p>\n

A day on the student job<\/h2>\n

\"The<\/picture>My work assignments vary quite a bit, but I typically take care of compiling various relevant company law documents. I help out with changes to the board of directors, minutes for general assemblies and boards, reviews to the Danish Business Authority, etc.<\/p>\n

I also assist the department’s lawyers with various ad hoc tasks. Recently, for example, I completed the registration of a drilling rig for the Danish Maritime Authority. It sounds simple \u2013 but it\u2019s not!<\/p>\n

The drilling rig operates in Azerbaijan<\/secret>, so I have to juggle between the Danish ship registry and the Azerbaijani authorities with documents and certificates to be issued, legalized and notarized.<\/p>\n

 
\n
\nIn the legal compliance department, I typically carry out due diligence <\/secret> on external collaborators and customers. I also help Maersk Drilling, Maersk Supply Service and Maersk Tankers comply with internal and international anti-corruption standards and sanctions rules.<\/p>\n

I am in contact with colleagues, customers and colleagues from around the world daily, and since the corporate language is English, my language skills have become much better.<\/p>\n

My most fun working day<\/strong> <\/em>was when I attended the annual general meeting of A.P. Moller – Maersk, where my tasks included handing out goodie bags to the shareholders. It was a lot of fun meeting so many different people. There are all types, from the businessman representing a serious company that owns shares in Maersk, to the elderly gentleman who has been a shareholder for many years and who turns up at the general meeting to enjoy himself.<\/p>\n

I have specialized in company law, so the work in a large company is clear-cut and relevant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How long have you worked in Maersk Drilling?<\/strong> I was employed in March 2016, so I have been working here for just over a year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you get the job?<\/strong> I saw a job posting online and sent an application. I had to go through some skill tests and a personality analysis before I was called in for an interview. I help out with changes to the board of directors, minutes for general assemblies and boards, reviews to the Danish Business Authority, etc.<\/p>\n<p>I also assist the department’s lawyers with various ad hoc tasks. Recently, for example, I completed the registration of a drilling rig for the Danish Maritime Authority. The concept is typically used in connection with corporate takeovers or mergers\">due diligence <\/secret> on external collaborators and customers. I also help Maersk Drilling, Maersk Supply Service and Maersk Tankers comply with internal and international anti-corruption standards and sanctions rules.<\/p>\n<p>I am in contact with colleagues, customers and colleagues from around the world daily, and since the corporate language is English, my language skills have become much better.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>My most fun working day<\/strong> <\/em>was when I attended the annual general meeting of A.P. Moller – Maersk, where my tasks included handing out goodie bags to the shareholders. It was a lot of fun meeting so many different people. There are all types, from the businessman representing a serious company that owns shares in Maersk, to the elderly gentleman who has been a shareholder for many years and who turns up at the general meeting to enjoy himself.<\/p>\n<p><em>Would you like to tell us about your student job?
