{"id":56535,"date":"2017-10-04T11:02:40","date_gmt":"2017-10-04T09:02:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/foerst-regnede-det-paa-juristerne-saa-dryppede-det-paa-rektor\/"},"modified":"2017-10-06T10:32:37","modified_gmt":"2017-10-06T08:32:37","slug":"foerst-regnede-det-paa-juristerne-saa-dryppede-det-paa-rektor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/en\/foerst-regnede-det-paa-juristerne-saa-dryppede-det-paa-rektor\/","title":{"rendered":"First it rained on the law students, then it drizzled on the rector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When the University Post <a href=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/en\/when-it-rains-on-kua-it-drips-down-on-the-lawyers\/\">reported in June that it had rained on law students in the brand-new buildings on South Campus<\/a>, it unleashed a torrent of Facebook jokes.<\/p>\n<p>Witty students quickly dubbed it the law faculty\u2019s own Watergate scandal in their Facebook group.<\/p>\n<p>The electronic system which controlled the skylights was incorrectly programmed by the contractor, so that the skylights opened when it rained and closed when the sun was shining. An explanation, which prompted yet more laughs.<\/p>\n<p>According to S\u00f8ren H\u00f6ffner, head of building operations, the problem was resolved. However, when the rector visited South Campus with the student council, water penetrated the interiors again \u2013 albeit this time in smaller volumes.<\/p>\n<h2>Leaky coverage was the culprit<\/h2>\n<p>Law student Bolette Birk Rich and theology student Lucas Antonio Madsen were standing in the law faculty\u2019s knowledge centre \u2013 a large, beautiful atrium \u2013 and talking about their programs when a rather surprised Wegener exclaimed \u201cHey. It\u2019s dripping!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><picture data-class=\"alignnone size-narrow wp-image-55822\"><source media=\"(min-width: 721px)\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter.jpg 1019w\"\/><source media=\"(min-width: 721px)\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-990x873.jpg 990w\"\/><source media=\"(min-width: 721px)\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-768x678.jpg 768w\"\/><source media=\"(min-width: 401px)\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-700x618.jpg 700w\"\/><source media=\"(min-width: 401px)\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-480x423.jpg 480w\"\/><source  srcset=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-290x256.jpg 290w\"\/><img src=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-700x618.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-narrow wp-image-55822\"  loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"618\"   alt=\"Rektors rundtur p\u00e5 S\u00f8ndre Campus - Videncenter p\u00e5 Jura\"  sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/picture><\/p>\n<p>H\u00f6ffner explains that a leaky cover around one of the skylights was the culprit this time.<\/p>\n<p>This has now been dealt with, but \u201cMurphy\u2019s Law\u201d is his take on the fact that it began to rain just as the rector was standing in the vicinity of the skylight with the unsealed cover.<\/p>\n<h2>Will go through errors<\/h2>\n<p>H\u00f6ffner adds that a one-year review of the 48, 000 square metre-campus building has been scheduled for November.<\/p>\n<p>Building management, which is the developer of the project, KU, which is the consumer, and the contractors will go through the errors and omissions.<\/p>\n<p>Remaining issues include mechanical problems with the doors, ceiling panels which fall down, and technical systems which no longer work, says H\u00f6ffner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey must find out which firms have the responsibility of improving this. sparked quite some amusement at the law faculty in June when rain poured in through one of the skylights at S\u00f8ndre Campus. Then, when rector Henrik Wegener visited on 19 September, things went downhill again. ","use_post_excerpt":false},{"acf_fc_layout":"Byline","is_author":true,"contributors":false},{"acf_fc_layout":"Content","content":"<p>When the University Post <a href=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/en\/when-it-rains-on-kua-it-drips-down-on-the-lawyers\/\">reported in June that it had rained on law students in the brand-new buildings on South Campus<\/a>, it unleashed a torrent of Facebook jokes.<\/p>\n<p>Witty students quickly dubbed it the law faculty\u2019s own Watergate scandal in their Facebook group.<\/p>\n<p>The electronic system which controlled the skylights was incorrectly programmed by the contractor, so that the skylights opened when it rained and closed when the sun was shining. An explanation, which prompted yet more laughs.<\/p>\n<p>According to S\u00f8ren H\u00f6ffner, head of building operations, the problem was resolved. However, when the rector visited South Campus with the student council, water penetrated the interiors again \u2013 albeit this time in smaller volumes.<\/p>\n<h2>Leaky coverage was the culprit<\/h2>\n<p>Law student Bolette Birk Rich and theology student Lucas Antonio Madsen were standing in the law faculty\u2019s knowledge centre \u2013 a large, beautiful atrium \u2013 and talking about their programs when a rather surprised Wegener exclaimed \u201cHey. It\u2019s dripping!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"618\" class=\"alignnone size-narrow wp-image-55822\" src=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-700x618.jpg\" alt=\"Rektors rundtur p\u00e5 S\u00f8ndre Campus - Videncenter p\u00e5 Jura\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-700x618.jpg 700w, https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-480x423.jpg 480w, https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-768x678.jpg 768w, https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-290x256.jpg 290w, https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter-990x873.jpg 990w, https:\/\/uniavisen.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/videncenter.jpg 1019w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>H\u00f6ffner explains that a leaky cover around one of the skylights was the culprit this time.<\/p>\n<p>This has now been dealt with, but \u201cMurphy\u2019s Law\u201d is his take on the fact that it began to rain just as the rector was standing in the vicinity of the skylight with the unsealed cover.<\/p>\n<h2>Will go through errors<\/h2>\n<p>H\u00f6ffner adds that a one-year review of the 48, 000 square metre-campus building has been scheduled for November.<\/p>\n<p>Building management, which is the developer of the project, KU, which is the consumer, and the contractors will go through the errors and omissions.<\/p>\n<p>Remaining issues include mechanical problems with the doors, ceiling panels which fall down, and technical systems which no longer work, says H\u00f6ffner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey must find out which firms have the responsibility of improving this.
