","contributor_image":false}]},{"acf_fc_layout":"Content","content":"<p>On Thursday, April 9, UCPH students lit up 152 candles for the victims of the massacre at Garissa University in Kenya. They were also donating money for the deceased, the survivors and their families.<\/p>\n<p>The memorial was arranged by two sisters from UCPH and took place at Caf\u00e9 Kommunen. It was dedicated to 152 people, mostly students, who were shot at Garissa University in Kenya one week ago by armed men from the terrorist organisation Al-Shabaab.<\/p>\n<p>“It’s about collecting money, yes, but it’s just as much to get it out there: to tell people what happened,” said organiser Anna Cecilie Friis Bach before the event, “the massacre hasn’t received much coverage in the Danish media.”<\/p>\n<p>Read: <a href=\"http:\/\/universitypost.dk\/article\/students-collect-victims-kenyan-massacre\" target=\"_blank\">Students collect for victims of Kenyan massacre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, 126 of the deceased have been identified. <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1Ka57mwGPnE2Jb46NELpR4MzelDpWrfJO9NH4tHjmD4Q\/edit#gid=0\" target=\"_blank\">In an open Google document<\/a>, friends and family are updating the list of the dead and adding stories, descriptions and memories to each name.<\/p>\n<p>Our photographer Emma Flokstra Nielsson was there.
