It is a networking community that has the motto ”nobody stands alone”, and it wants to make professional and social networking enjoyable for its members. Now the organization in Copenhagen is adding a new venue for their events to accommodate a growing community.<\/p>\n

Internations, a non-profit organization connects expatriates with each other and other internationally-minded people. The new venue is located in the meatpacking district, and the first event, next Wednesday, will include tapas, drinks and mingling.<\/p>\n

”People really take advantage of the professional atmosphere that our events provide,” explains Janne Furbo, one of InterNations’ ambassadors in Copenhagen, in an interview with University Post.<\/p>\n

Professional networking possibilities<\/h2>\n

Members include employees of large corporations, such as Dong Energy, M\u00e6rsk and Saxo Bank and social events are often structured such that the first two hours are used for networking and mingling, followed by a party with a DJ and dancing.<\/p>\n

PhD students are among one of the groups attracted to InterNations. ”Many of them are spending a year here to do research, or live here now,” explains Solomon Lyttle, Janne’s colleague.<\/p>\n

If mingling with a potential employer isn’t enough, it\u2019s an opportunity for students to meet others of their own age, as most members are between 25 and 50 years old.<\/p>\n

Getting involved<\/h2>\n

Joining the community is simple, but there\u2019s a small catch. Basic members are only allowed a free trial access to activities and a few other features.<\/p>\n

Albatross members, however, pay a small fee (between \u20ac4.95-6.95\/month) in order to gain full access to the networks.<\/p>\n

This allows you access to the network\u2019s free activity groups, such as their professional networking, Middle Eastern culture or language exchange group and a discount on admission to official events.<\/p>\n
