For the first time, both students and staff at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) will have the opportunity to represent the university at this year’s Copenhagen Pride Parade. <\/p>\n

Individual faculties at the University of Copenhagen have been represented in the past.<\/p>\n

The parade takes place on the 30th of August and marks the culmination of Copenhagen Pride Week, which begins on 27 August in the square at City Hall\u2014renamed \u201cPride Square\u201d for the occasion.<\/p>\n

According to Copenhagen Pride\u2019s organizers, 20,000 people took part in last year\u2019s parade. <\/p>\n

Since 2009, the university has been hosting an annual reception for BLUS, an organisation for LGBTQ students. It was this event which actually led to other events such as the individual faculties being part of the parade.<\/p>\n

The University of Copenhagen has also hoisted a rainbow flag above the main building on Frue Plads, in order to mark Pride week. <\/p>\n
