Europe’s largest science meeting, ESOF, is held every two years in a major city. This year, it is set to take place in Copenhagen between 21 – 26 June. <\/p>\n

Hosted by international organization Euroscience, the Open Forum will represent all disciplines, stretching from natural science, to engineering, to humanities and the arts.<\/p>\n

”I can promise you that the team is working hard and enthusiastically in Copenhagen,” says Klaus Bock, from the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science, ”we will have 450 speakers in 120 sessions, 6 Nobel Laureates, and 30 ERC Advanced Grant holders and heads of key European institutions.”<\/p>\n

A healthier society<\/h2>\n

The massive event will be opened by Queen Margrethe of Denmark and President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso.<\/p>\n

Researchers, business leaders, government officials, journalists, students, and the interested public are all welcome to learn, participate, and engage in the debate on current scientific areas. <\/p>\n

From science to career<\/h2>\n

The programme features 120 sessions relating to society, policy, business, and careers in science. <\/p>\n

In the career section, new researchers can speak with professional advisers about career development, both in research and in the business world in the ”Life after PhD” panel discussion. <\/p>\n

Free ticket for volunteers<\/h2>\n

Registration for the event can be done on their website, here<\/a>, and prices vary from an entire festival ticket at 380 euros (DKK 2.900) or 250 euros (DKK 1.865) for teachers and those under 35, 100 euros (DKK 745) for students and 50 euros (DKK 370) for a student day ticket. <\/p>\n

However, ESOF is still looking for volunteers! Volunteers will receive free access to the conference and sessions, and parties, and will receive free food while on duty. <\/p>\n

This year, it is set to take place in Copenhagen between 21 – 26 June. <\/p>\n<p>Hosted by international organization Euroscience, the Open Forum will represent all disciplines, stretching from natural science, to engineering, to humanities and the arts.<\/p>\n<p>”I can promise you that the team is working hard and enthusiastically in Copenhagen,” says Klaus Bock, from the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science, ”we will have 450 speakers in 120 sessions, 6 Nobel Laureates, and 30 ERC Advanced Grant holders and heads of key European institutions.”<\/p>\n<h2>A healthier society<\/h2>\n<p>The massive event will be opened by Queen Margrethe of Denmark and President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers, business leaders, government officials, journalists, students, and the interested public are all welcome to learn, participate, and engage in the debate on current scientific areas. <\/p>\n<p>Here, you can check out a preview of one of these themes, as Centre for Healthy Aging director, Lene Juel Rasmussen, and Biomedical Science professor, Bente Merete Stallknecht, discuss the how science is working to create a healthier society in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n[video:http:\/\/vimeo.com\/90547170 width:525 height:380 align:center]\n<h2>From science to career<\/h2>\n<p>The programme features 120 sessions relating to society, policy, business, and careers in science. <\/p>\n<p>In the career section, new researchers can speak with professional advisers about career development, both in research and in the business world in the ”Life after PhD” panel discussion. <\/p>\n<p>The entire programme can be seen <a href=\"http:\/\/esof2014.org\/programme-1\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Free ticket for volunteers<\/h2>\n<p>Registration for the event can be done on their website, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ereg.me\/ehome\/index.php?eventid=67941&\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, and prices vary from an entire festival ticket at 380 euros (DKK 2.900) or 250 euros (DKK 1.865) for teachers and those under 35, 100 euros (DKK 745) for students and 50 euros (DKK 370) for a student day ticket. <\/p>\n<p>However, ESOF is still looking for volunteers!
