In a previously published guide to Copenhagen neighbourhoods,(with some of the interviews included here, but not all the pictures) we presented an overview of all the Copenhagen city areas<\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Now we focus more on each of the local areas, and with more tips from the locals.<\/p>\n

Island’s Brygge is a small neighbourhood on the island of Amager (pronounced ‘Am-arrr’), but slightly separate from the rest. This neighbourhood is at the moment mostly known from the Danish reality show Familien p\u00e5 Bryggen<\/em> (The Family from Brygge), which shows the daily life of the buxom blonde Linse Kessler and her family. If you walk around the neighbourhood, you will likely meet her in real life!<\/p>\n

Islands Brygge, also simply called Bryggen, is right beside the harbour. In the summer, it is a cool spot for locals to meet up by the water to tan, relax, read a book, or party. Some will even jump in the water to beat the heat.<\/p>\n

Delicious ice cream<\/h2>\n

The University Post had 23 year old sociology student, Jasmin give inside details on Bryggen:<\/p>\n

”Islands Brygge is probably mostly known for Linse Kessler, and then all the people tanning at the harbour. There are all kinds of people here.”<\/p>\n

”In the summer I just love to go down to the water with a blanket and a good book, and just relax. Close by also lies my favourite ice cream shop Bryggen 11<\/em>. They make the most delicious ice cream.”<\/p>\n

What’s your local secret?<\/h2>\n

When asked for her favourite place on Islands Brygge, University Post reader Carina enthusiastically says ”Kaff\u00ed! I live in Frederiksberg,”she says,”but it’s well worth the trip. Especially their coffee (obviously), and their hot chocolate (yum).”<\/p>\n

Another reader, Dem\u00f3stenes, gives Wulff + Konstali Food Shop his own ”best carrot cake award”.<\/p>\n

There are all kinds of people here.”<\/p>\n<p>”In the summer I just love to go down to the water with a blanket and a good book, and just relax. Close by also lies my favourite ice cream shop <em>Bryggen 11<\/em>. They make the most delicious ice cream.”<\/p>\n<h2>What’s your local secret?<\/h2>\n<p>When asked for her favourite place on Islands Brygge, University Post reader Carina enthusiastically says ”Kaff\u00ed! I live in Frederiksberg,”she says,”but it’s well worth the trip.
