Central bank offers free homes to scientists

Visiting scientists above the PhD level can apply for one of seven free guest apartments in the attractive Nyhavn harbour front

Danmarks Nationalbank, the central bank of Denmark, has seven apartments in the centre of Copenhagen, which are made available to international scientists and artists visiting Danish scientific or artistic institutions.

The website of Danmarks Nationalbank provides a detailed description of what it takes to apply for one of the free guest apartments: Applications from PhD students are not considered. Neither are applications from former residents who have stayed in one of the apartments within the last five years.

In the allocation of the apartments, the institution says that emphasis is laid on the guest’s previous work which should be of ‘high quality’. Emphasis is also on the guest’s ability to contribute with knowledge and inspiration.

Applications are accepted until 25 January 2012. For more details about the guest apartments and applications visit Danmarks Nationalbank here.
