Funeral of law student and activist, and the subsequent procession through the city, bears witness to the affect his tragic death has had on a wide circle of people. See the pictures here
In the church, a 19th century Christian hymn, said to be the last song played on the Titanic:
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me;
Still all my song shall be nearer, my God, to Thee..
Upwards of 1,500 people were at the service for Jonas Thomsen Sekyere – a 21-year old law student and activist who was tragically stabbed to death at a night club Saturday last.

Flags were at half mast in central Copenhagen, including on the top of the landmark Central Campus building on Frue Plads.
An entourage of people followed his coffin out of the church to the tune of ‘Amazing Grace’.
They followed, in respect, all the way to his place of burial in the Assistens cemetery – holding up traffic at times – as they proceeded through the city centre.
Jonas Thomsen Sekyere’s girlfriend Laura Vang Petersen addressed the congregation:
»There are no words, no consolation, to fill out the void that you have left us«.
