PhDs, and medical doctors, graduation ceremony

Newly minted health PhDs and medical doctors celebrated

PhD and MD students congregated at the Faculty of Health and Medicinal Sciences to receive their degrees last Thursday.

“It was a long, difficult process; there were a lot of sleepless nights, and I am very happy to finally hold my degree”, Raminta Venskutonyte, who completed her degree in 2012, told the University Post reporter.

The ceremony opened and closed with the University of Copenhagen choir, and a keynote speech on biomedical research was given by Professor Liselotte Højgaard, who is the chair of the Danish National Research Foundation.

Moving on

Vice-dean for research, Birthe Høgh, played the role of Master of Ceremonies in the presentation of the graduate school’s PhD pins. Around 200 guests attended the ceremony.

“After spending years doing research on type II diabetes, I am excited to move on with my career”, said Anne Kaas, who obtained her MD in 2012.
