UCPH to celebrate diversity in Copenhagen

Be a part of the celebration when the University of Copenhagen dances with Copenhagen Pride Saturday 20 August

Copenhagen Pride is upon us, the huge cultural and human rights festival that celebrates the LGBTQ community and puts the values of diversity and inclusion on the Danish agenda. The organizers call the Pride the largest celebration of diversity.

150,000 people watched the Pride Parade in 2015. This year also, the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) will be involved in the celebration, so come and help us celebrate diversity with classmates and colleagues when UCPH yet again joins the Copenhagen Pride public procession.

Get your gay on

The UCPH parade float will leave Frederiksberg Town Hall (Frederiksberg Rådhus) Saturday 20 August at 13.00, and people are encouraged to be there 45 minutes before departure. Enough time to doll yourself up. The parade lasts about two hours and ends in front of City Hall (Rådhuspladsen)

You take part by signing up here on 18 August at the latest, so organisers can order T-shirts and sandwiches. All participants will receive an e-mail with more information in the days leading up to the parade. There is a UCPH pride T-shirt, a sandwich and a soda to all UCPH participants and their signed up family and friends.

If you have any questions about the event, contact Stine on sa@studenterhuset.com. You can also follow it on Facebook.

At the Uniavisen newsroom we are now discussing which song will replace Pride 2015 ‘s smash hit Lean on. Will it be Maître Gims , Beyoncé or Justin Bieber and Mø? Either way, we will see you out there in a forest of fake eyelashes!
