DIKU Bits - A tale of two electrons: Simulation Spin-Qubit Quantum Devices.

image:

Talk — Oswin Krause from Machine Learning will teach us about Quantum Devices. To build a quantum computer, we need to understand its fabrication and behaviour. For each device, we have to learn how the small differences in manufacturing change its model parameters and ideally, we want to learn the model parameters from as few measurements as possible. But how can you learn the unknown? With device simulations. In this talk, Oswin will focus on the computer science behind simulating spin-qubit devices and how to do that in a way that does not take hours or days, but also show how such a simulation is useful for practitioners.

DIKU Bits is a lecture series for students (and (Ph.D.) employees) about current research at DIKU, held every other week . The lectures aim to inspire choices of elective courses, project writing, etc., but also to provide greater insight into colleagues’ research fields and create a common meeting space for both staff and students.
