The paintings in the exhibition constructively revisit the history of colonialism, promoting decolonization and fostering connections. The main issues explored are systems of justice. The systems of justice under colonial rule are generally similar worldwide. Therefore, the artist has compared Greenland, Pakistan, and the Indian subcontinent with other examples related to expansionism.
It should be highlighted that the exhibition is part of Rubya Mehdi’s academic interdisciplinary writings, specifically “Understanding Gender and Diversity in Europe: Experiences of Migrant Single Mothers in Denmark,” published by Springer Press in 2024-25.
