New students at the University of Copenhagen will get the chance to shake hands with the head of the university and meet their fellow students at the official matriculation ceremony today Friday
Friday 28 August at 15.00, and Rector and Prorector will be welcoming new students at the University of Copenhagen.
The official part of the event will feature a welcome speech by Rector Ralf Hemmingsen and musical performances.
The event is expected to last about half an hour and after that, all newly matriculated students will get the chance to shake hands with the rector, pass through the Ceremonial Hall, and head out into the Lindegården courtyard.
In the courtyard, new students can enjoy beers and hotdogs, before heading over to a matriculation party at Studenterhuset, with music, beer and, as something new, chill-out areas.
In 2013, university management decided to merge the matriculation ceremonies that had previously been separate for Danish and international students.
Find out more about the event (including how to get in and what cards, ID etc. you need to bring with you)here.
