University of Copenhagen rector and management salaries

The University Post has been given access to management’s salary numbers for the year 2023. This is what the rector, prorectors, university director and the deans are earning at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH).

The best paid management position is rector, who last year earned a bit more than DKK 2 million, while several of the faculties’ deans earned more than the two prorectors.

The amounts shown are the actual total paid salary for the year 2023, understood as basic salary, pension, fixed allowances, temporary allowances and one-off bonuses.

Here is management’s pay:

1. Rector Henrik C. Wegener
DKK 2,013,880 (167,823 per month)

2. Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Bente Stallknecht
DKK 1,637,974 (136,497 per month)

3. Dean Katrine Krogh Andersen, Faculty of Science
DKK 1,611,021 (134,251 per month)

4. Prorector for Research David Dreyer Lassen
DKK 1,559,575 (129,964 per month.)

5. Dean Kirsten Busch Nielsen, Faculty of Humanities
DKK 1,529,200 (127,433 per month)

6. Dean Mikkel Vedby Rasmussen (replaced by Vibeke Koushede 1 May 2024), Faculty of Social Sciences
DKK 1,462,961 (121,913 per month)

7. University Director Søren Munk Skydsgaard (started term on 1 May 2023)
DKK 974,479 (121,809 per month)

8. Prorector for Education Kristian Cedervall Lauta
DKK 1,451,415 (120,951 per month)

9 Dean Jacob Graff Nielsen, Faculty of Law
DKK 1,447,937 (117,835 per month)

10. Dean Carsten Selch Jensen, Faculty of Theology
DKK 1,153,427 (96,118 per month)

All deans get a basic salary of DKK 55,982 per month. The different numbers are due to differences in the individual supplements that the individual deans have negotiated.
