University of Copenhagen slips one point from last year in the 2012 Academic Ranking of World Universities, making it number 44 in the world.
First in Denmark, second in the North, 44th in the World. This is the ranking of University of Copenhagen in the 2012 Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
The ARWU ranking is solely based on publicly accessible scientific quotations from Universities.
Harvard University snaps first place in the 2012 rankings and University of Cambridge takes the European first place (making it fifth in the world). Karolinska University in Sweden takes the Nordic first place (and is 42nd in the world).
The 2012 results for University of Copenhagen show a drop of one point since last year, when it was number 43 in the world and took first place in the North. The best ranking UCPH has ever received on ARWU was in 2010 when it reached number 40 in the world.
However, UCPH has risen in the ARWU ranking compared to last year in the field of Social Sciences and subject fields of Physics and Computer Science.
University of Copenhagen is above University of Aarhus in all 2012 rankings, except the subject field of Chemistry.
