Dating Apps: Why Looking at Care and Gender Matters

On 30th of April from 12.15-13.00 at KUA2 in 15A.0.13, Sara Margrét Sigurðardóttir will speak at DIKU Bits. 

Bring your lunch, your fellow students, and join us when Sara dives into how dating applications continue to shape how we connect with others and navigate new romantic and intimate relationships. In this talk, Sara explores how users navigate connection and rejection, for example when balancing self-care.

Drawing on critical feminist theories, she will focus more on how conceptions of masculinities, gender, and desire interplay in dating app experiences. The talk will conclude with open questions for discussion.
