Christmas Crush: Jakob and Signe

Among football fanatics and beer braggarts, Jakob, 23, student of political science met Signe, 28, journalism student for.. well, beers and football.

Frederik VI is a bit out of the way, on a quiet corner of Frederiksberg. The customers inside seem interested in two things only: the extensive beer selection (“Nine on taps and about 60 bottles, and we’re constantly bringing in new types”, says a proud bartender) and the large screen showing the match between Aalborg BK and Esbjerg FB.

Either way, everyone seems pleased. Signe and Jakob are sitting at some distance from the football fans, by a large window overlooking the Christmas decorations in Frederiksberg Allé. They are having a Carlsberg and chatting along.

Rate this place for a date
Jakob: I’ve never been here before, but I like it.
Signe. Me too. But the football match is not the most romantic thing.

Which historical figure would you invite over for dinner?
Jakob: I’d go on a double date with Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe
Signe: I’ll ask Jesus. I’m curious to see if he can really do miracles.

What would you cook for them?
Jakob: It looks like they’d have expensive taste, so I’ll go for champagne.
Signe: I don’t think I’ll have to cook a lot. I’ll just bake bread and let him do the magic.

What’s the most embarrassing song in your playlist?
Jakob: Beyonce
Signe: Okay, I’ll admit to having an entire guilty playlist on Spotify, but number one is definitely Peter Andre.

What’s the next book you’re going to read?
Jakob. I’ve read about Camus’ 100th anniversary today, so I’d take the cue and go for The Myth of Sisyphus.
Signe. I really want to read Neil Young’s biography

What’s your favourite place in Copenhagen?
Signe: Mine is definitely Blågårdsgade
Jakob: I second that! I also like the area Jaegersborggade and Stefansgade.

Either way, an old Frederiksberg bodega was the venue for romance this evening.
