Coming up: biggest European congress on international health

Denmark's Crown Princess Mary is patron to the 8th European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health, which takes place on 10 - 13 September

The European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health gathers researchers and students from around the world in a bid to discuss a broad range of issues regarding health.

The main topics of discussion include the progress made on the millennium development goals, climate change’s impact on infectious diseases in Europe, and the global epidemic of non-communicable diseases.

Health challenges in low income countries will also be a crucial discussion point, with expected discourse on strengthening research in African universities. Diseases such as Malaria, TB, and HIV will also receive attention, with researchers presenting the latest findings in the fields.

World-class hub for health research

The conference also aims to creating greater visibility for UCPH and cement Copenhagen’s reputation as a world-class hub for global health research, education, and programming. The city boasts a newly inaugurated UN City and the EU Environmental agency.
