Conference: More languages, more students

Symposium on improving study skills in a global context

The symposium this year from the Centre for Internationalisation and Parallel Language Use (CIP) will include a whole series of directors of language centres from other universities. Nelleke Van Deusen-Scholl (Yale University),Stefane Charito (Columbia University), and Nick Byrne (London School of Economics) will discuss institutional globalization in academics.

UCPH is starting its new research project, ”Strategic Languages”, and the conference will bring researchers and speakers from abroad to discuss the impact foreign languages into a ”flexilingual’ world.

”At the conference there will be information about the project’s initial results from a needs assessment at the faculties, as well as information about the project development fund that all departments at the university can apply to for funding of pilot projects with a focus on language teaching and support as an integral subject element,” writes Tina Skriver Didriksen, administrator for CIP to the University Post.
