The University of Copenhagen slips a few places, but is still one of the highest scorers on key world rankings
After gaining in 2010, the University of Copenhagen has dropped seven places to 52nd position on the QS rankings.
This can be seen in the latest results here.
The QS rankings used to be a joint partnership with the Times Higher Education rankings, until they went their separate ways before last year’s ranking.
In the QS tables, the Copenhagen maintains its status as the top Scandinavian institution.
In Europe, the University of Copenhagen is number 14.
Biggest Danish competitor Århus University is 79th this time round, slightly up from 84th in 2010.
Copenhagen’s intranet portal KUnet.dk (needs log-in) has looked into the rankings in more detail.
According to them, the University of Copenhagen is ranked high in the fields of life sciences and medicine. Other subjects that have fared well are politics and international studies, which get a number 34, and mathematics which gets a 36th place in the world.
