Danish tradition attracted cheerful crowd

Chance to partake in an age-old Christmas tradition brought eager heart-makers together

The air was brisk and the snow was on the ground. But that didn’t stop nearly 60 international and Danish students from attending the annual Christmas Hearts Advanced Workshop Tuesday night.

Students gathered to hear about the history of this Danish tradition followed by time to make their own hearts. Some even attempted to try to the most challenging Christmas Heart, usually only tackled by those with advanced skills.

The result? Learning patience, a bit of frustration, but also a feeling of freedom and accomplishment when they completed their hearts.

See the pictures and the comments from the participants in our photo report here.

Why Christmas hearts?

The University Post was there to take some photos of the event, and interviewed students to find out why they chose to attend this otherwise overlooked event.
