Immigration figures highest ever

DANISH NEWS - Syria, Romania, Poland top the list of nations of origin, according to statistics agency

Intensified efforts to tighten Denmark’s borders come just as new figures show immigration to this country is at an all-time high, according to seven59.dk.

The latest figures from Statistics Denmark reveal that nearly 70,000 migrants arrived in this country in the 12-month period between Q3 2014 and Q2 2015, the highest number ever.

Syria provided the most, 9,375, followed by 5,164 Romanians. The remainder of the top-10 was filled by migrants from Poland, USA, Germany, Lithuania, India, Norway, Italy and China.
