Listen to this! First library bossa nova track ever

University of Copenhagen's Faculty Library of Social Sciences has released a song dedicated to the students

The library band Los Bossa Nuevo Bibliotheca has recorded a bossa nova track about the students of Social Sciences and why they should be spending time at the library. According to the band, it is probably ‘the first bossa nova library song in the world’.

Christian Lauersen, the director of Faculty Library of Social Sciences a.k.a. the ‘bossa boss’ came up with the idea along with his bandmates.

”We started with the idea of doing something as a dedication to the hardworking students. Our guitarist Jens is very keen on bossa nova, he took up the melody, we did some jamming, and then we went to sound engineering. Bossa nova as genre is very warm and welcoming to many people – just like we want the library to be,” says Christian Lauersen.

Listen and sing along

The song has also been published as 7” vinyl and is available for streaming on Soundcloud.

Here are the some of the lyrics to Lost in Your Time (At the Library) so you can sing along (so make sure you have clicked on the Soundcloud link above first, right?)

A teenage group drinking alcohol
As is seen by sociology’s eyeball
A work in field or theoretical
Anthropology and intellectuals

The world of ours
A world of choice
Economy’s man
A powerful voice

We help you find
All the texts on your mind
Lost in your time at the library

7” vinyl of Lost in Your Time (At the Library)

They have even made a music video that you can watch here.
