More diversity at the university

This week, Copenhagen will host a 'School of Diversity'. It is organised by BLUS, an organization for Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans and Queer (LGBTQ) students. The aim is more diversity in higher education

This week, Copenhagen will play host to School of Diversity, a conference on diversity in higher education institutions.

60 students from eight countries will participate.

The conference is arranged by BLUS, a Copenhagen organization for Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans and Queer (LGBTQ) students.

International programme

The conference boasts two speakers from the US: Elizabeth Wilson-Anstey and John-Paul Sanchez.

Elizabeth Wilson-Anstey is Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.

John-Paul Sanchez works to address the sociopolitical needs of LGBTQ individuals living in the United States.

He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Group of Diversity and Inclusion of the Association of American Medical Colleges.

More diversity at university

BLUS have put together a program containing a mix of informal and formal learning, lots of group work, discussions and social activities.

The conference is taking place in July 18-25 at Kastanievej Efterskole in Frederiksberg.

The theme is how LGBTQ student organisations can influence the process of working towards increased diversity in education institutions.
