Jasmine Still loves digging around for Roman coins. On Wednesday, she will get DKK 10,000
»Why did they choose me…? I guess they like people who make efforts academically and are open to the world.«
Jasmine from Australian National University, Canberra, is one of this year’s Crown Princess Mary Scholarship winners. The day she received the news about her scholarship was a great day, not least for her mother: »My mum is insanely proud,« she giggles.
Speaking about the upcoming award ceremony Wednesday, Jasmine admits that she is a little nervous.
»I’ve never met royalty before,« she says, »It is a good thing I can bring a friend«.
Jasmine studies law and history. She is interested in the humanities in general, but especially in times past. This interest may explain why she has enjoyed her stay in Copenhagen so much.
»Remains of the past are all around,« she raves.
Indeed, Jasmine has signed up for an archaeological field trip in the summer.
»I need to take this chance. I wouldn’t be able to find any Roman coins in the ground in Australia!«.
