Board believes Rector Ralf Hemmingsen's claim that he made the call to the laboratory to check up on it. He didn’t take notes
Rector Ralf Hemmingsen did not take any written notes of the call he made in 2003-2004 to a Spanish company to find out the veracity of Penkowa’s laboratory rat experiment claims.
This was made clear at the press conference Tuesday.
However, this is not a reason to doubt his testimony or his actions as reported by legal advisers Kammeradvokaten (in Danish here), according to the chairman of the Board of Executives, Nils Strandberg Pedersen.
Milena Penkowa put Rector in contact with a Spanish company to document her lab rat experiments. The company has subsequently turned out to be non-existing. There is nothing in the report that explains who Ralf Hemmingsen actually spoke to during the phone call.
»It is worthy of criticism that no note of this was made,« said Nils Strandberg Pedersen.
But this said, »we are satisfied with Rector’s explanation that the conversation in fact took place,« said Nils Strandberg Pedersen.
