Right now: Central campus packed with protesters

Thousands of students amassed in front of University of Copenhagen. Speeches held

“It is not about speed. It is about quality,” the speaker says in front of the old University buildings on Frue Plads. “You need more than books to make a doctor,” another annnounced.

The thousands of students, who have amassed there from throughout the different campuses, applaud.

All day, lines of demonstrators have been meandering their way through the city, and now they are awaiting outside.

Offered cake, dialogue

The Rector’s Office had announced earlier that tents with cake, pastries and drinks would meet the expected thousands (inside the central yard Lindegården).

This is after Rector offered surprise concessions to students late last night Tuesday which include not enforcing the 45 ECTS a year rule.

It is as yet unclear whether students have taken up the offer and whether they have entered the central square.
