Taking a cue from American and English top universities, the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) now has a penthouse Faculty Club, where top health scientists can meet and exchange ideas in informal, inspiring surroundings. See the pictures here
Instead of rooms filled with cigar smoke and Chesterfields, the Faculty of Health Sciences can boast of a VIP penthouse Club in the minimalistic, light and spacious New Nordic style. Or not exactly boast – the Faculty Club isn’t supposed to be elitist. Rather, it is a platform in which scientists can share and develop ideas in informal surroundings.
Sadly, due to space considerations, it is not for PhD of PostDoc level scientists but for assistant professsor and up.
Professor Bjørn Quistorff gave the Danish-language site Uniavisen a guided tour of the Club. You can enjoy the penthouse view from your screen – check out the gallery here.
“Attracting great minds means having good facilities in surroundings that are nice to be in.” says Quistorff, who spearheaded the project with two of his fellow professors.
Danish-language site Uniavisen.dk has a more in-depth interview with him here.
