She has persistently fought against the theft of research and for more research freedom. First with the 'Please don’t steal my work' campaign and later with the 'Set research free' campaign, both of which received widespread support from Danish researchers. Now Maria Toft has resigned and will leave the University of Copenhagen. And she is happy to slam the door on her way out.
The whole foundation of research in Denmark is being undermined. This was the message from dissatisfied researchers when they handed in 2,252 signatures to politicians at the Danish parliament.
Hundredevis af forskere har fået nok. De vil have danske politikere til at nedsætte en kommission, der skal kulegrave forskningsfriheden. Nu ruller de en landsdækkende underskriftsindsamling ud.
