If temperatures rise, huge icicles will turn into falling daggers
Danger lurks behind the beauty of the deep freeze. This was brought home to a Copenhagen man recently, who had to be put into an artificial coma in hospital after being struck by a falling icicle.
The picture above, showing a structure a bit like stalactites from a cave ceiling, was taken by Sabine Fischer, information specialist at the University of Copenhagen.
