This Friday, the annual Culture Night is coming to town, and the University of Copenhagen is in on the fun with loads of events. The University Post has combed through the programme and guides you towards the best
Stress-test at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Bingo at Pharma, brain tricks at Health Sciences, the Botanical Gardens by night, stand up comedy at Theology. This Friday is no ordinary day at the University of Copenhagen. We’ve collected the best of the University of Copenhagen’s Culture Night offers for you below so you can fully embrace the highlights of this new side of your university.
Remember that you can get in to all the University of Copenhagen events for free if you show your university id card.

Test your stress level: Explore your senses and find out how we can measure your nervous system’s stress reaction. From 18.00 to 22.00.
Visit the University Hospital for Animals: A guided tour of a state-of-the-art animal hospital. Here, you can learn more about the newest testing- and treatment options for sick pets. Tickets are given out from 14.00. Dyrlægevej 16.

Test of tobacco: In the lab, cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco will be scrutinized and tested for exactly how much nicotine is in them. From 18.00 to 22.00.
Vibes from Africa: A group from Pharmacists Without Boarders join culture night to tell stories from their trips, test your knowledge of medicaments and even offer an African style bite to eat. From 18.00 to 22.00.
Pain for beginners: The feeling of pain is very individual, and much research is devoted to the constant battle against it. Take a look inside the newest research on the area, and test your own pain threshold. From 18.00 to 22.00.
Medicine bingo!: Play a game with your pills! Do you know why your pills are pink? Or how the medicament got its name? Thought provoking entertainment and prizes are on the menu when Pharma plays medicine bingo this evening. From 18.00 to 22.00.

The life of a Med. Student: Is being a medical student really like Grey’s Anatomy? Find out with this exhibition of photos taken by the students themselves over the course of a year. From 18.00 to 00.00 In front of the Lundsgaard Auditorium.
Your brain is playing tricks on you! : See how your brain tricks your body by trying out some of the classic neurological FORSØG on yourself with the help of students and scientists. From 18-00 to 00.00. In Vandrehallen in front of Studiesalen.

The botanical gardens by night: The Botanical Gardens are open until midnight this Friday. Follow the torch-lit paths to the Palmhouse, where scientists will tell you all about ants in Panama, research expeditions in Antarctica, micro-sized bears and other wonders from the world of Biology. From 18.00 to 00.00.

Theology after Dark: After 21.30, Theology gives you the chance to experience Danish humour first-hand, when the Faculty of Theology invites Danish stand up-comedians Anders Stjernholm (who might be known to some as the host of TV2’s Bingo Banko) and Jakob Svenden to end the evening on a high note. Dead Poets Society: Take away the movie’s suicidal parts and the repressive English boarding school theme. Keep the ‘carpe diem!’ and the poetry elocutions. On culture night you can join the intellectuals after dark at the faculty library of the Humanities. Apart from guided tours, there will be readings of different world literature all read aloud in the original languages. From 18 to 22.
Turn on the radio: Throughout the evening students from LARM, Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, will be playing their own radio productions at the faculty library. From 18 to 22.
Murder at the library: Finally the faculty library offers you a gothic and morbid theatre experience. E.A. Poe’s famous ‘The Tell-Tale Heart’ will be playing at 19.30 to 21.30.
