The Gulf Stream keeps Denmark mild, but research suggests the ocean current system behind it could be heading for a tipping point, possibly within this century. What would that mean for Northern Europe, and how sure can scientists be? Peter Ditlevsen, Professor of Climate Physics at the Niels Bohr Institute, explains the science behind one of the most talked-about climate studies of recent years, and what it means for all of us.
Part of Fourthspace, a new series of talks by experts and storytellers in Copenhagen bars: one big idea, a drink in hand, and good conversation afterwards. The talk is in English.
Event takes place on Wednesday 4 November 2026, doors at 18:00, the talk at 18:30, finished around 19:30
