What if the secret to better health was turning on (or off) a light?

Our bodies evolved to keep time with the daily rising and setting of the sun. The body’s internal clocks help to regulate our biological functions – and they may hold the secret to more effective treatments for diseases. Since the Industrial Revolution, artificial light has transformed our societies. Light pollution and working at night can cause disease through disrupting the body’s natural rhythms. But might we be able to harness light to cure disease?
