DIKU Bits: The Body as User Interface

Abstract

Human-computer interaction is beginning to involve our bodies in new and rich ways, compared for instance to mouse or touch input. This happens using gestures, movement, wearables, implantable devices, and on-skin sensing. In this talk, I present work from the BodyUI project on the use of the body as user interface, and some of the associated technical and psychological research questions.

On BSc, I teach interaction design (da. interaktionsdesign); on the MSc, I teach User Interface Technologies and Advanced Topics in Human-Centred Computing.

Right now, I am following the work of Tristan Harris with interest, for instance at http://humanetech.com/. I find he tackles an important problem.
