After just two years on the job as dean of a hard-hit-by-budget-cuts Faculty of Humanities at the University of Copenhagen, Jesper Kallestrup is leaving his post to become a professor in Scotland. According to the Rector of the University of Copenhagen, Kallestrup has »attempted to discuss« the difficult choices that the faculty faces.
The standoff is continuing at the Faculty of Humanities. Last Friday, the students’ humanities council HUMrådet decided to continue its blockade of management corridors until the dean dropped his plans to merge courses.
History student Niklas Zenius Jespersen is the mastermind behind the students' confrontational and activistic line in occupying the management corridors at the Faculty of Humanities.
